Her finder du en oversigt hvordan et kombination af trinene bliver til et udtryk (engelsk).
Hermed tager du de første skridt til en fuld dans. Nedenfor finder du nogle udtryk til trinene, som ofte bruges i line-danseundervisning.

Hvis du vil starte med linedance er det en rigtigt go’ ide at først kigge på trinene, og måske lære nogle af dem. Sådan kommer du et skridt foran! De fleste udtryk er skrevet og bliver sagt på engelsk fordi engelsk er den mest brugte sprog i Linedance.

Triple Step In Place · Triple Step Forward ·​ Triple Step Back · 1/4 Pivot Turns . 1/2 pivot Turns · Rock Forward · Rock Back · ​Grapevine · Sailor Shuffle · Jazz box ​. Rocking Chair · Coaster Step · Side Triple or Chasse.


Right & Left Triple Step In Place

Right Triple In Place- 1&2 Step right foot to right side-step ball of left foot next to right foot-step right foot to right side taking weight.

Left Triple In Place- 1&2 Step left foot to left side-step ball of right foot next to left foot-step left foot to left side taking weight.


Right & Left Triple Step Forward

Right Forward Triple – 1&2 Step forward onto right foot-Slide ball of left foot forward and next to right-step forward with right foot.

Left Forward Triple – 1&2 Step forward onto left foot-Slide ball of right foot forward and next to left-step forward with left foot.


Right & Left Back Triple Step

Right Back Triple- 1&2 Step back onto right foot-Slide ball of left foot back and next to right–step back with right foot.

Left Back Triple- 1&2 Step back onto left foot-Slide ball of right foot back and next to left-step back with left foot. 


Right & Left 1/4 Pivot Turns

Right 1/4 Pivot – 1-2 Step right foot fwd-On the balls of your feet turn directly over your left shoulder to the wall 1/4 left of you. Bring your weight onto you left foot.

Left 1/4 Pivot – 1-2 Step left foot fwd-On the balls of your feet turn directly over your right shoulder to the wall 1/4 left of you. Bring your weight onto your right foot.


Right & Left 1/2 Pivot Turns

Right 1/2 Pivot – 1-2 step right foot fwd-on the balls of your feet turn directly over your left shoulder to the wall behind you. bring your weight fwd onto you left foot.

Left 1/2 Pivot – 1-2 step left foot fwd-on the balls of your feet turn directly over your right shoulder to the wall behind you-bring your weight fwd onto your right foot.


Right & Left Forward Rock Steps

Right Forward Rock Step – 1-2 Rock forward onto your right foot-Replace the weight back onto your left foot. 

Left Forward Rock Step – 1-2 Rock forward onto your left foot-Replace the weight back onto your right foot.


Rock Back Right & Left

Right Rock Back- 1-2 Rock back onto your right foot-Replace the weight back onto your left foot.

Left Rock Forward – 1-2 Rock back onto your left foot-Replace the weight back onto your right foot.


Right & Left Grapevines

Right Grapevine – 1-2-3-4 Step right to right side-Step left behind right-Step right to right side-Touch left beside right.

Left grapevine: 1-2-3-4 Step left to left side-Step right behind left-Step left to left side-touch right beside left.


Right & Left Sailor Shuffle

Right Sailor Step – 1&2 Step right foot behind left foot-Step left foot to left side-Step right foot to right side.

Left Sailor Step – 1&2 Step left foot behind right foot-Step right foot to right side-Step left foot to left side.


Right & Left Jazz box (aka Jazz Square)

Right Jazzbox- 1-2-3-4 Step right foot over left foot-Step back on left foot-step right foot to right side-Step forward with left foot.

Left Jazzbox- 1-2-3-4 Step left foot over right foot-Step back on right foot-step left foot to left side-Step forward with right foot.


Rocking Chair Right & Left

Right Rocking Chair – 1-2-3-4 Rock forward onto right foot-replace weight onto your left foot-Rock back onto your right foot-Replace weight onto your left foot.

Left Rocking Chair – 1-2-3-4 Rock forward onto left foot-replace weight onto your right foot-Rock back onto your left foot-Replace weight onto your right foot.


Right & Left Coaster Steps

Right coaster step – 1&2 Step right foot back-Step left foot beside right-Step fwd onto right foot. 

Left coaster step – 1&2 Step left foot back-Step right foot beside left-Step forward onto left foot.


Side Triple Steps Right & Left (aka Chasse)

Right Triple Step Side (or Chasse) – 1&2 Step right foot to right side-step ball of left foot next to right foot-step right foot to right side taking weight.

Left Triple Step Side (or Chasse) – 1&2 Step left foot to left side-step ball of right foot next to left foot-step left foot to left side taking weight.
